Design Options

Customize your pages with color, styles and more.

Choose the colors you want used on your generated pages. Click on each area on the sample Web page (see above), near the top of the screen and select the desired color from the Color Chooser.

If you'd like to sample a color that's already on your screen somewhere (even in a different application), click "Sample Colors". The "Color Sampler" window will appear.

Click the icon that looks like an eye dropper and hold the mouse button down. With the button still down, drag your mouse around on the screen until you see the desired color appear in the "Preview" box. To return to the "Color Chooser" click "Choose Colors". Or, if you are finished selecting colors for now, click "Done".

You can also click "Preset" to open a different version of the Color Chooser allowing you to keep your favorite color choices handy, temporarily.

If you choose "Safe Palette" from the drop down list, you will see all the "Web Safe" colors you can then choose from. In the old days, graphic cards were more limited and we needed to concern ourselves more with using "Web Safe" colors. Now, this mostly just serves as another way to quickly select from some of the basic colors.

Areas you can customize include the page background, text and hyperlinks, the menu background, text, buttons, button rollovers, hyperlinks and hyperlink rollovers.

Click the button in the upper left hand corner initially labeled "Detail Page" to view the corresponding sample page. This button is a toggle, allowing you to quickly view the sample Detail and sample Search Results (aka Report) pages.

Table Widths and Other Options

Enter the width you want for your table and choose either px (pixels) or % (of browser window) by using the scrollable list (see the part hilited in blue below) to the right of the text box.

Check "Hide Menu Bar" from the Sample Search Results page and you will get visual feedback to see if this is desired for your application.

Font Size: Choose the desired font size from the scrollable list.

Color Themes: Choose from the list of color themes from the scrollable list, if desired.

Greeting, Company Name, Home: Enter any opening remarks you would like to appear on your opening page, the name of your company and the Web address you would like have the HOME button link to, here. Note, if you check "Omit Default Header" there is no need to supply a Web address here since the HOME button only appears in the Default Header. For more information, see below.

Header and Footer:

This is optional. Choose any htm or html file you would like to have included at the top or bottom of each of your pages, by clicking the forward slash symbol to the right of the Header and Footer text boxes, respectively.   Your files will be left intact, and only be used to generate additional personal header and footer files.

Note: Any images used in your header or footer files will need to be copied to the appropriate subfolder. ASaP! does not enure that all the images are present.

Background:

If you have an image you'd like to appear in the background of each page, enter the file name here.
Note: This file needs to be placed manually into the same folder you are having your generated pages saved to.

Check "No Repeat" if you don't want the background to repeat. This is a handy feature making it possible to have an image in the background without having it repeat over and over on the page.

Shared Styles:

This is optional. If you are working with more than one project and you want to maintain color consistency between projects, you can load colors from a previously saved ASaP! project file. The color choices will be pulled from the project file of your choice. Click the forward slash to the right of the "Shared Styles" text box to select any ASaP! project file containing the desired colors for your current project.

Templates:

This optional feature allows for you to pull in a look you've created with the software of your choice. ASaP! generates pages using this page as a "template".

Records / Page:
Enter the number of records to appear on a Search Results (aka Report) page at one time. When the visitor clicks "NEXT" s/he will be able to see the next set of pages.

Results Data:

The Columns Option will display records in a spreadsheet type fashion like below:

The Rows Option will display records with the data of each field on its own line. This option also provides the ability to place a thumbnail next to the record.
