FTP

You can upload your generated pages directly to your ISP! ASaP allows you to upload your files to the Internet in an effort to help you avoid some of the file management issues that are often involved.

Server / IP Address: Here you will specify your remote server domain name or IP address, for example, www.sandiegowebparnters.com or 111.222.333.444

Server folder / Web site folder: Here you specify the subfolder (if any) that contain your Web site. This will be supplied to you by your Web site hosting service or ISP (Internet Service Provider). An example of this might be as shown below. Note that ASap does not create this folder, it should already be created and supplied to you.
../../web

Subfoder for project (recommended): Here you can specify the subfolder you'd like this particular project to be uploaded to. If it does not already exist, ASaP will attempt to create it for you before uploading your files.

User Name: Enter the user name that was supplied to you by your Internet Service Provider / Web site hosting company.

Password: Enter the password that was supplied to you by your Internet Service Provider / Web site hosting company. Or, if you've since changed it, enter the new password. Note that this password is separate from the password you may have chosen while on the Login screen. Note that if you forget your password you may have to contact the company that is hosting your Web site.

Once this information is complete, you must first click on the "logon" .

You will notice a horizontal like barber pole moving and once the logon process is complete then this image will disapper and a message will appear to it's left letting you know that you have logged in successfully .

Once logged in then you can upload in one of two ways.   You can simply use the blue  UPLOAD button at the bottom left of the screen which will prompt you for each section of items to upload.   This is recommended if you are just starting with ASaP.

You will be asked questions along the way regarding the upload process:

The generated pages will be placed in the subfolder you originally chose when logging in.  The HTML area files will be uploaded in a special "htmlarea" subfolder within this folder.   Your database will be uploaded to the path that you chose on the database page within ASaP and if no path was chosen then it will be placed at the same level as your generated pages.   The image files will not be uploaded automatically for you but ASaP will navigate to the remote directory you specified and then prompt you to choose the files that you would like to upload.   The thumbnails are handled in the same fashion as the images.

If you would like you can also choose to upload only certain portions of the necessary files as you see fit with the buttons in the middle of the page.   By hovering over each button you will see a brief description for each button.  You can choose to upload any of the following:

Also as of release 3.2.0 we improved the FTP portion so that you can upload and download files of your choice as needed.   Rename Files, Delete Files, Create New Folders, Navigate the remote directory structure and get the file size attributes from any file.   As you will see below files and folders are listed in a format you are comfortable with.   You can go into any folder simply by double clicking on it.

See "Generate Files," and "OPTIONS," for more information.
